Mark J. Harris, O.D.
Dr. Mark J. Harris is a graduate of the University of Houston College of Optometry earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1992. He also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Houston. He completed his primary eye care externship at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS. He also completed externship training in ocular disease treatment and management and pre- and post-op care at the Eye Institute of San Antonio, TX.
As a therapeutically licensed optometrist, he is skilled in diagnosing and treating ocular diseases and ocular conditions related to systemic diseases. He is also very experienced in fitting all types of contact lenses. This inludes complex designs such as toric, bitoric, multifocal and keratoconic using soft and rigid lens materials.
He and his wife Margie have a son named Payton. He has lived in Houston over thirty years, and was educated locally in the Alief school system. He is an active member of his church and assists with Boy Scouts. His hobbies include photography, and is enthusiastic about wine. Recent vacation destinations seem to favor wine making areas of the country.
